Arc Light is a book about an accidental nuclear exchange that leads to war between Russia and the United States. Clive Cussler called it, "One of the best reads of the decade." The San Francisco Chronicle said, "Arc Light is a pulse-pounding technothriller with a heart . . . filled with intense and moving moments."

I never had plans to be a writer. One day, however, I decided to try out my new computer printer but found I had nothing to print. With coverage of the Gulf War still fresh in my head, I sat at the computer and typed. My wife Marina read what I'd written and encouraged me to go on. Those few test pages became the scene at the airport in Arc Light where David Chandler is issued his M-16, and I haven't stopped writing since.
